The Power of Community in the face of a Cost

With rising living costs spiralling, inflation at a 40-year high and taxes increasing, we conducted a piece of research* to learn from the nation how they’re managing the cost of living crisis on a daily basis.

As we all try to find a way to navigate these challenging times, second-hand sales, community lending and freebie sourcing are just a few of the positive ways we’re adopting to get through this.

Conscious Shopping

57% of our respondents shared that they’re rethinking the way they shop in the wake of the cost-of-living crisis – with over half now spending more time looking for bargains and deals compared to pre-crisis. Perception of second hand has also shifted, with one in ten buying pre-owned for the first time in the last three months and 44% saying they’re willing to purchase more second-hand items than they were a year ago.
